Title of talk: Security Career Framework: A Life in the Fast Lane
Abstract:
      The security industry is a growing industry, globally there is a drastic shortage of security professionals. Singapore and the region is no exception, yet the commmon issue is the lack of qualified new comers to this industry.
      This presentations covers the security industry from the perspective of employers and the decision making process utilised and undertaken to hire new staff. Foccusing on the skillsets and traits that are required in a security professional, career prospects and ongoing formal security education.
Biodata:
     Mr. Don Ng Say Hock is the Manager for Strategy and Solution in Quantiq International a regional security company. He specialises in security strategy and security trends life cycle analysis. He leads the Intrusion Detection Taskforce and undertakes the evaluation of new security technologies for induction across the region. His interests include security technologies in the arena of nanotech and information warfare.

Title of talk: Real World Security Training
Biodata:
      Julian Ho is Senior Engineer at a regional telco. For the past 4 years, he has been responsible for network systems security, security policy planning and network/systems auditing, development of security overlay network design and consolidation, conduct of system forensics during security incidents (Incident Response), management of threat research and internal defence notification prioritisation, as well as managing various customer network solutions and two of AsiaPac's largest WLAN hotspot deployments.
      He has had a distinguished IT career for the past several years with successful job stints in the US, Hong Kong and Singapore. His past experience includes several technical positions in Fortune 500 companies including Senior Consultant at KPMG Consulting Pte Ltd, Systems Analyst at Western Digital Pte Ltd, Application Specialist at Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) as well as Systems Integration for Songy Partners Limited (US), a US$100 million capitalized REIT.
      He holds an honours degree from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland (UK) and several professional IT certifications such as SISP, CSPFA, CCNA, A+, MCP.
