This is our first event after the lows of SARS in April. As we herald in the good news of being struck off the list of
SARS affected area for travel by WHO, Mr Lin Yih gave us a technical overview of Crypto Smart Cards, their critical success
factors,technology behind them and applications. An interesting demonstration gave the attendees plenty of to think about!

Lin Yih is co-founder and owner of Digital Applied Research and Technology
Pte Ltd. The applied R&D company was founded 18 years ago and conducts
business in the area of security, smart cards, airport simulators, and many
other areas. As a volunteer, he is also Chair for Cards and
Personal
Identification Technical Committee, under Singapore National IT Standards Committee
(member since 1997). In addition, he is also Executive Consultant to Netrust
Pte Ltd, Singapore's only licensed Certification Authority (as of 2003).
He was born and raised in Singapore, 47 years old, and holds three EE&CS
degrees from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA. For more than 17
years, he has also volunteered as an Education Councilor for MIT - giving
advice to undergraduate applicants and interviewing them.
