The guys from Last Stage of Delirium (LSD) got the ball rolling. Their interesting concepts on intrusion detection techniques incorporating data mining and expert system elements got the members hyped up and the knowledge sharing going. Then Jay took over talking about honeynet and we got into a "war" of defenders and attackers theories.

Who is LSD?

LSD Research Group (http://lsd-pl.net) is a non-profit (and non-commercial) informal organization, established by a group of four computer fascinates from Poznan University of Technology, seeking for expert knowledge in the field of computer and network security. LSD first gained world-wide fame as winners of the 5th Argus Hacking Challenge on  Pitbull . Pitbull's Secure Application Environment (SAE) protects against security flaws in application software by isolating applications in separate security compartments.

Who is Jay Beale?

Jay Beale runs his own consulting and training "JJBE Security Consulting". Previously of Mandrake Linux, he is the father of Bastille Linux security scripts. He is also involved in the Honeynet project and have vast experience in the realm of hardening Solaris.
