Description of our Logo

  1. The wordings, SIG and 2 in the two circles stand for "Special Interest Group in Security and Information inteGrity" where the initial SIGSIG, which in mathematics stands for (SIG) to the power of 2 or SIG2. Thus SIG2 or SIG^2 is the shorthand for the society name.
  2. The circular design signifies a tight, like-minded, security community and to bring this community towards being a small circle of friends-practitioners.
  3. The two circles or dots also means "to the dot" because that was what SIG^2 is set up for, that is a no-frills, techie type of organization. In short, we hope SIG^2 can be "IT Security...…the Gathering. By enthusiasts for enthusiasts."
  4. The choice of colours of light blue for the main dot and purple for the small dot are to represent the dynamism and the youthfulness of the organization. Light blue also means the sky, where the "sky is the limits."
