Aloysius Cheang
President
|
 |
Aloysius is an IT security practitioner with more than 6 years of experience in both private and public sectors. He is a manager with PricewaterhouseCoopers' ("PwC") Performance Improvement Practice and was formerly a technical staff member of Computer Security Lab under DSO National Laboratories.
Aloysius is a founding member of SIG^2 (http://www.security.org.sg) and has been her president for past 3 terms. He also served on board as a founding member in BCP/DR and Network Security working groups under Information Technology Standards Committee ("ITSC"). At the same time, He is a contributor and country representative to ISO/IEC/JTC 1 SC 27, which publishes international security standards such as ISO17799. Aloysius also advises various education institutes that deliver security courses and sits on the National Infocomm Competency Centre's ("NICC") Accreditation Committee. In the course of his undertakings, Aloysius spoke frequently at various local and international conferences and seminars. He is also regularly interviewed and featured by media in Singapore and overseas, mainly Times Asia, The Straits Times, New Paper, ComputerWorld and ChannelNewsAsia.
Aloysius is responsible for delivering value-added enterprise risk management services at PwC, such as IT audit services and IT security consulting, infrastructure reviews and implementation. Other areas include BCP/DR reviews, computer incident handling and digital forensics investigation. Aloysius also has great interest and experience in pervasive computing, in particularly, security of mobile devices and mobile communication networks such as WLAN and Bluetooth.
Aloysius holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Computer Science from the National University of Singapore. He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional ("CISSP"), a Certified Information Systems Auditor ("CISA") and is a pioneer SAIRS GNU Linux Certified Professional ("LCP"). He also held the SANS GIAC Certified Incident Handler ("GCIH") certification since 2000. Recently, he is awarded with Microsoft's Most Valuable Professional - Window Security for his contributions to the technical community.

Tan Chew Keong
Vice-President and Director, G-TEC
|
|
Chew Keong is an IT security consultant employed to do security vulnerability research in a major international security advisory firm. Besides his portfolio as the Vice-President of SIG^2, he also leads the SIG^2's G-TEC lab.
Using the lab, he pursues his interest in vulnerability research, reverse
engineering, exploit code development, rootkit analysis, device driver
coding and web application testing with his fellow enthusiasts.
Chew Keong holds a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from the National
University of Singapore and a Master's Degree in Computer Networks from
the University of Essex (UK).

Ong Geok Meng
Secretary
|
|
Geok Meng, CISSP, is in his second term as honorary secretary of SIG2. Currently pursuing his passion in security research with a global virus research team, he had previously taken on various managerial and technical positions in IT security consulting, network and malware research in both private and government sectors.
He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from the School of Computing at National University of Singapore.

Roland Yeo
Vice-Secretary
|
|
Roland is a specialist in the IT training and certification industry with
more than 8 years experience in the sales and marketing of vendor
certification and training programs. He is regular speaker at certification
and career seminars, providing consultancy and advice to IT professionals
with their career advancement and development.
As a keen enthusiast in all things IT, Roland is currently an IT
security evangelist promoting the importance of security awareness and
technical competency of both IT and non-IT professionals. Roland holds a
bachelor degree in computing and professional certifications in SISP and
MCSE. He is currently the Managing Consultant and co-founder of Fusion
Frontier, a human capital acquisition and management company specializing in
the placement of IT professionals.

Don Ng
Treasurer
|
|
Don Ng is a field Director in charge of Gateway Security with Symantec in this region. He has been involved intimately with the domain of enterprise security management and perimeter security solutioning. Don carries out Security Architecture design and consultancy engagements across the region has given him an excellent grasp the different security lifecycles across asia.He is an evangelist in spreading the gospel of application security.
Prior to Symantec, Don Ng was the Country Manager of Quantiq International, managing a
diverse portfolio. Besides overseeing the expansion of the company into Thailand
and Vietnam, he also led the Strategy Team in Quantiq, which was responsible for
security market intelligence and security solution evaluation and
induction.
Don holds the CISSP and CFI certification among other certifications. His medium terms goals is to be a subject matter expert in the fields of information warfare and nanotechnology security.

Jimmy Tan
Committee Member and Director, Industrial Relations
|
|
Jimmy Tan is Platform Strategy Manager with the Business Marketing
Organization in Microsoft Singapore. Jimmy focuses on the security
communication strategy for Singapore, ensure that customers are kept
informed of Microsoft's efforts around security, equipping partners with
the right security framework to be able to deliver on Microsoft's
solution platform securely. He is also responsible to drive local
commitments around security by engaging actively with local security
communities.
Before Microsoft, Jimmy was Solutions Manager at SAP for multiple
enterprise solution suites, including SRM, mobile and web services
solutions. Prior to SAP, he was Principal Consultant at Ariba, where he
managed the implementation of enterprise spend management solutions for
customers. While working as a Network Security Engineer at Reuters,
Jimmy provided security consultancy on heterogeneous network
configurations, firewalls and system architectures. He also conducted
business impact and security assessments for project teams implementing
mission-critical financial, news and transactional systems. He started
his career in software development and systems integration, where he
implemented Internet banking solutions and wrote client-server security
solutions that provide strong encryption for Internet transactions.
Jimmy has a MSc (Communications and Network Systems) from NTU, and a
BSc(Information Systems and Computer Science) from NUS. He also has a
Graduate Diploma in Financial Markets and Investments from the
Australian Securities Institute.

Angela Ho
Committee Member and Director, Events and Communications
|
|
Angela holds the CISA and CISSP certification. She is currently working in a local bank as an IT auditor. Her work involve IT risk assessment, reviews of security and internal controls across the bank environment in accordance with the bank's risk-based audit methodology. Prior to working in the bank, she has worked as an IT security consultant for about 3 years in a local vendor-independent IT and communications engineering solutions provider. She specialises in intrusion and detection systems, content filtering, antivirus and firewall solutions. Her areas of work include conduct pre-sales, provide IT consultancy services, monitor trends and best practices in IT security techonologies and perform evaluations and make appropriate recommendations to customers.

Steven Sim
Committee Member and Director, Education and Campus Relations

|
Steven Sim Kok Leong has more than 8 years of IT security experience. He works for the National University of Singapore Computer Centre as an Assistant Manager in the Infocomm Security Group which doubles as the NUSCERT team. His IT security experience ranges from BS7799 compliance and audits, standards review, incident response, intrusion analysis, vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, product research, tools development to training. Security tools he developed include a behavioral-based IDS which has helped streamline the detection for new worms. Prior to this appointment, he managed critical firewalls and secured mission-critical servers, mission-critical networks and storage area networks at the University.
Steven is also the Principal Investigator of the SIG^2 G-TEC Honeynet Project team, research director at the ISSA (Information Systems Security Association) Singapore Chapter, a country representative to international ISO/IEC/JTC1/SC27 meetings, a member of the ITSC NSSWG (Network Security Standards Working Group) and an advisory member at the SANS GCFW advisory board.
Steven holds a postgraduate MComp (Masters of Computing) degree from the National University of Singapore on top of his BSc in Information Systems and Computer Science as well as a number of professional security certifications including CISSP, CISA, GCFW (honors), SISP and CCSA. Vincent Leong
Committee Member and Director, Centre for Competency
|
|
Vincent currently works at the Infocomm Security Division of IDA (Infocomm
Development Authority of Singapore). Besides his primary role as a security
consultant, contributing in areas of policy developments, security awareness
training, and consultancy services, he has keen interest in new technologies
as well as emerging developments in the infosec community. His work involves
research of practical implementation of policies-inline security , which
includes methodology development, security risk assessment, threats &
vulnerabilities studies, and security architectures.
His vast experience has brought with him domains of knowledge from Secure Web Application and
WAP developments, with DSTA; to VoIP implementation with a Dot-Com.
Previously, he was with Network Appliance, Inc. providing support for
Storage Virtualisation at Sunnyvale, California HQ as well as at the
Singapore Global Support Center. His free-time research areas includes
wireless communications systems, FSO, Encryption, PKI, as well as HoneyNets.
With the convergence of technologies, he hopes to unify the various domains
as a security evangelist.
Vincent holds a Bachelor's degree in EEE from the Nanyang Technological University, majoring in Communications Engineering. He also held a SANS GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC) since 2003.
